CHANG & FILLER's
ANATOMY of FACIAL AESTHETICS
Atlas of Cadaver Dissection
The first-ever Facial Anatomy Trilogy — each volume a 600-page masterpiece, built entirely on real human dissections. This unprecedented atlas series reveals the true anatomy of the face through hundreds of high-resolution photographs, captured step by step during dissection with surgical precision. No illustrations. No digital reconstructions. Just pure, in-situ anatomical reality.
About the Authors
Dr. med. Zhixiong Chang and Prof. Dr. med. Timm Filler are internationally recognized anatomy educators and physicians dedicated to advancing patient safety through anatomy-based medical education. Their collaborative work combines extensive cadaver dissection research, clinical experience, and anatomical investigation to provide an unprecedented view of facial anatomy as it truly exists.
The Anatomy of Facial Aesthetics atlas series represents years of anatomical research and documentation, featuring thousands of high-resolution photographs captured directly from real human dissections without illustrations or digital reconstruction.
A Collaboration Rooted in Clinical Anatomy
The creation of CHANG & FILLER’s Anatomy of Facial Aesthetics – Atlas of Cadaver Dissection represents the culmination of decades of experience in clinical anatomy, anatomical research, cadaver dissection and medical education.
Dr. med. Zhixiong Chang and Prof. Dr. med. Timm Filler have collaborated extensively in the field of clinical anatomy at the Medical Faculty of Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, Germany. Their shared commitment to anatomical accuracy, scientific integrity and patient safety formed the foundation for the development of this comprehensive atlas series.
Prof. Dr. med. Timm Filler serves as Clinical Professor at the Medical Faculty of Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf and is Head of the Section of Clinical Anatomy. Throughout his distinguished academic career, he has dedicated himself to anatomical teaching, cadaver dissection and the advancement of clinically relevant anatomy for medical students, physicians and surgeons.
Dr. med. Zhixiong Chang is a physician, anatomy educator and former Lecturer of Clinical Anatomy at the Medical Faculty of Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf. His work focuses on facial anatomy, anatomical variations, cadaver-based education and the application of anatomical knowledge to improve patient safety and clinical outcomes in aesthetic medicine.
United by a passion for anatomy and education, the authors recognized the need for a comprehensive anatomical reference that accurately reflects the complexity of real human anatomy. While traditional anatomy textbooks often rely on schematic illustrations and idealized representations, their vision was to create an atlas based entirely on authentic human dissections, allowing readers to study anatomy exactly as it appears in clinical reality.
The result is a unique three-volume work featuring thousands of high-resolution anatomical photographs obtained directly from real human cadaver dissections. Particular emphasis is placed on clinically relevant structures, including arteries, veins, nerves, retaining ligaments, fat compartments and fascial layers, as well as the anatomical variations that are frequently encountered in practice but often underrepresented in conventional teaching resources.
Designed for aesthetic medicine practitioners, surgeons, anatomists, educators and researchers, the atlas serves as a bridge between anatomical science and clinical application. It reflects the authors’ shared belief that a deeper understanding of real human anatomy is essential for advancing education, improving procedural safety and ultimately enhancing patient care.
